Saturday and a couple of makes to share with you ...

Hey there readers,

Hope your weekend is coming along well. Haven't we had some ferocious weather this week? I hope you (and your families) have stayed safe and not had too much trouble/damage as a result of storms Dylan and Evelyn.

Pretty much all week the weather has really been "stay in and craft"  and, that's what I've done - there was nowhere much I had to be except a hair appointment on Thursday so ..... Here's one of this week's makes - I've had the image so long my memory has let me down over its origins - sorry peeps, I bought it at a show in Clearwater, Florida about 10 or so years ago so it's no surprise to me that I can't recall the manufacturer. I think I made my selection from a basket of unmounted rubber!

My card
And a closer view of the image panel and sparkle

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 300gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit and one of pearlised gold card, cut to mat
  • Snippets of card in both white and gold, for image panel and matting
  • Unknown image (see above) stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • The Cats Pyjamas sentiment (from S 5845-CL) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Cerise glitter washi tape
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour image
  • Stardust stickles to add some sparkle - IMHO you can never really have TOO much sparkle on a celebratory card

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Craftaholics R Us - challenge No. 1 - CELEBRATION CARDS
  2. Penny's Paper Crafty - challenge No. 361 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Double D - January 3rd challenge - TO USE THE MOOD BOARD BELOW- I used the pinks and purple tones from the first pic along with the LOVE birds - to make my anniversary card
  4. Creative Knockouts - challenge No. 227 - CELEBRATIONS
  5. Cute Card Thursday - challenge No. 511 - ANYTHING GOES

And another make for you today ...

My card

And a closer view of the image panel
Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 300gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of purple card cut to mat
  • Using washi tape I masked off a panel and applied Distress Inks in shaded lilac and wilted violet
  • With my "mask" in place I stamped the Creative Expressions border image ( from set CEC83- Faded Fauna Borders - a Christmas gift) using Versafine onyx black ink and my Paper Artsy splatter (from HTPX01) using Ranger Archival majestic violet ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencil in blue violet to just add a little shading to the flower petals
  • With the mask still in place I gave my project a quick spray of Crafters Companion Spray and Shine - to seal the water based inks
  • The Cats Pyjamas (from S-5845CL) sentiment stamped using Versafine onyx black ink

I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-

Two great cards, Kathy, I especially love the first one with the dancing couple.

We've certainly had some windy weather this week! I'm surprised we still had a roof left after the other night when the wind kept me awake half of the night! xx

Great cards Kathy - I've just seen your 2nd entry into LIM challenge, and looked for your name, as I knew the purple challenge would be right up your alley! Not that you don't enter every time! I love the soft panel you have created on your card here - and the border stamp provides just the interest it needs.
